A website can be anything from an online business card to a platform where people interact with each other to save the world. As a web designer I challenge myself to not only make the website easy to use but to add a unique personality to every single site I make. Another challenge is to make myself obsolete after development; I want the owner of the site to be able to do everything themselves. Changing texts, images and adding new posts and events is made easy using the WordPress backend that everyone is familiar with. If you’re not, don’t worry. I’ll make sure to give you a workshop after handing over the website.
After going viral while cleaning a beach in Asia, Tijmen Sissing knew he could do so much more than just pick up trash by himself. That’s why he posted on facebook asking for someone who could help him build a website. Within a few minutes, I got tagged, convinced, and involved. Together with Vincent Hammingh (a graphic designer and illustrator), we created a brand identity and online platform for Trashpackers all across the globe. So far the platform has helped getting rid of over 25.000 bin bags full of trash from beaches and parks all over the world.
Trash we can!
Spoken word is growing rapidly in the Netherlands and Mensen Zeggen Dingen wanted to grow with it. A bunch of misfit artists banded together to create a platform gathering the best spoken word artists they could find. In less than two years they grew from a small event in Nijmegen to hosting club shows in multiple cities in the Netherlands and Belgium and conquering stages at festivals like Pukkelpop and Lowlands. Vincent Hammingh is the designer behind their signature illustrations and together we were asked to create a website for Mensen Zeggen Dingen. With the infinite possibilities of the world wide web we quickly turned multiple ideas into a full-fledged platform with a webshop included.
